Lagrimas de Café is an experimental short poetic film written and directed by Claudia Mercado, to honor her grandmother Maria’s legacy. Claudia’s grandmother came to visit her one random day at a café after she had been developing black and white photographs of her grandfather’s 75th birthday. With the visit came memories of Claudia’s eight-year old self. Lagrimas de Café is this encounter, a poetic tapestry weaving the past with the present, death and life, memory and love.
