Brenda Chavez Attorney

HSF Alumni-portraits 181Ms. Chavez represents clients on a broad range of matters including  the acquisition and licensing of intellectual property. She obtained her law degree from Columbia University School of Law (Class of 03’) and her bachelor of arts from Stanford University (Class of 99’)  where she majored in Chicana/o Studies and Sociology, graduating with departmental honors. Ms. Chavez is a member of Cap and Gown, Women Leaders at Stanford, due to her academic excellence, community involvement and leadership experience.

Ms. Chavez began her legal career in the corporate and securities department of Greenberg Traurig, LLP in New York where she also worked on various entertainment matters, most notably representing the buyer of the Elvis Presley estate. While in New York, Ms. Chavez was a pro-bono attorney for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

After relocating to California, Ms. Chavez worked in the in-house legal department of one of America’s largest manufacturers of vitamins, where she drafted and negotiated company agreements and worked closely with members of finance, human resources and information technology groups. Ms. Chavez was an associate at Leader Gorham LLP in West Los Angeles from 2007-2011. She is now Of Counsel at Leader Counsel, Inc. and represents her own clients.

Ms. Chavez is based out of Los Angeles, California and is licensed to practice law in California and New York. She is fluent in Spanish.
